ClearCount Medical Solutions has received $5 million in a round of Series B funding led by Draper Triangle Ventures and Smithfield Trust. The company developed an FDA-approved device that uses radio frequency identification technology to track surgical sponges. The money will allow ClearCount to further develop its tracking technologies for use in other medical systems, a company spokesman said.
