ClearCount Medical Solutions has closed on $4.1 million in financing, which it will use to increase marketing and sales efforts for its operating room sponge count/detection system. Pittsburgh-based venture capital firm Draper Triangle Ventures led the financing round. ClearCount of Ross offers the only Food and Drug Administration-approved sponge counting system, which utilizes radio frequency identification, RFID, to maintain accurate sponge counts.
